Rospower delivered a Section 278 highway package on River Road, Barking, for Integrated Solutions Contracting (ISC). Cory was the end client, with ISC providing construction management for Cory’s new Barking site.
The works were delivered under a Section 278 agreement between ISC and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD), supporting the highway access to the new site.
Six-week highway programme
The package was completed over a six-week programme. The scope included footway breakout and reinstatement, together with carriageway and bellmouth reinstatement. Rospower also installed HB2 half-battered kerbs, flush kerbs, tactile paving and bollards.
Road marking works included double yellow lines, STOP markings and white lining.
Key deliverables included:
- Footway breakout and reinstatement along the site frontage
- Carriageway and bellmouth reinstatement
- HB2 and flush kerbs installed to the new kerb lines
- Tactile paving and bollards installed along the footway
- Double yellow lines, STOP markings and white lining
Traffic management
Traffic management was staged around the work area and the programme. Give-and-take control was used for most of the works, with portable two-way signals used where required.
Completed works
Following inspection by LBBD, a substantial completion certificate was received on 22 July 2026. The completion photographs show the finished highway frontage, including the reinstated footway and carriageway, kerb lines, tactile paving, bollards and road markings.
The project demonstrates Rospower’s ability to coordinate a complete urban highway package, from breakout and kerbing through to reinstatement, pedestrian provision, road markings and traffic management.
